Session replays

A session replay lets you watch back what one visitor did on your site - the pages they moved through, where they moved the pointer, what they clicked and how they scrolled.

A replay is a reconstruction rather than a video. The tracking code records the changes to the page as they happen and the player rebuilds them, which is why a recording is small enough to keep and why it stays sharp at any size.

Replays are available on websites using advanced tracking. Lightweight tracking cannot produce them.

Watching a session

Open a recording from the Replays page. Beside the player is the list of pages that visit went through - click one to jump the playhead to the moment they arrived on it.

Very short sessions are not kept, and a single recording stops after a set length, so one visitor leaving a tab open all day does not produce an unwatchable recording. Both limits are part of your plan.
